6 To-Do's A Virtual Assistant Can Get Done

Every business owner has a bunch of tasks that they never have time to do. You know the ones I'm talking about. The "little" stuff that always gets pushed to the bottom of your to-do list. The thing is though, some of these little tasks could actually make a big difference in your business if you did them. So, what's a busy business owner to do? The answer is quite simple: hire a virtual assistant. A virtual assistant (or "VA") can take care of all those little things for you and free you up to work on the bigger stuff. Here are just some of the "to do's" a VA can get done:

1. Update your social media profiles

Provide your VA with a list of all of your social media sites so she (or he) can see if there's any outdated or missing information. Maybe it's time for a new profile picture or a bio update.

2. Google me, please

Ask your virtual assistant to Google you. Googling yourself will help you stay on top of your placement or rank on the Internet and what's being said about you and your company. While you're at it, have your VA set up Google Alerts for you, your business name, competitors and anything else you would like to monitor.

3. Always give thanks

Had a potential client call? Did you have an amazing interview with someone you admire? Were you a guest at a luncheon? Have your VA send out a simple hand-written thank you card that will make you look like you are on top of your game. Sign up for a Send Out Cards account to manage your contacts, send out cards and even gifts, like yummy brownies or even Starbucks gift cards!

4. Reuse, recycle, and repurpose

Take a look at all of those fantastic blog posts you've written. Isn't it about time you did something more with them? Give your VA five posts at a time to reuse, recycle or repurpose. Just some of the ways to do so:

  • Break a post up into an autoresponder series to send out to your list
  • Pull quotes from posts and schedule them on your social networks with a link to the post
  • Reformat posts into new articles that you can submit to article directories like EzineArticles.

5. Make social media a HOOT

Sign up for a HootSuite account and have your VA schedule status updates for you to keep your audience engaged. She can also monitor and flush out all of those annoying Auto DM's and mark the ones that are important for you to follow up on. An added bonus? Hootsuite has powerful analytics that show you how you are performing across Facebook, Twitter and more. Ask your VA to send you a bi-weekly analytics report.

6. You're cordially invited to be our guest...

Looking for new content for your blog? Give your virtual assistant a list of people that you'd like to have as guest bloggers or have them come up with a list for you to review. Then, ask your VA to invite them to do a guest blog and organize when they'll be posting. And, if you are looking to do some guest blogging yourself, have your VA send out your bio and suggested post topics to other bloggers.

What to-do's are you going to have your virtual assistant get done? Tell us in the comments.
