3 Powerful Questions to Help You Find Clarity In Your Business

In 2014, I hit a massive wall in my online marketing business. You know, the kind of wall that looks like its 1000 feet tall and 1000 feet wide? No way over, and no way around. I was in a major funk and badly needed some good old fashioned clarity. I needed to get right with my soul again.  So I did what most creatives do, I found a quiet beautiful space, grabbed my spiral notebook, colored pens, glass of wine and sat down to spend some quality time digging deep and rediscovering my why, my purpose and reigniting that fire that fuels my passion.  I've always had a strong desire to create a ripple effect in the world. But how? By getting back to the basics and answering three simple but powerful questions, it didn't take long for me to find that rad chick who loves to be a wave maker and who believes she can make a major impact on the universe. Here are the questions to help you regain clarity and reignite your inner fire.

1. What is your purpose in the world?

I am not a fan of clichés or labels, but I see a really strong connection with how they can describe our identity, when chosen thoughtfully and carefully. I'm a mom first and foremost who needs fulfillment in serving women as well as moms who have a strong desire to succeed. That is my need. My cause. Take Action: Prioritize what sets YOUR soul on fire. What is it that you need on a daily basis to make your cup runneth over with peace, fulfillment, and gratitude?

2. What is the "WHY" of your work?

Why are you really doing what you’re doing? {As we know, it rarely comes down to making bank.} Think about freedom, service, abundance, love, travel, connection, relationships. What are you most passionate about? How can your gifts + talents change the world? (YES, I said "change the world". You are a talented beautiful force to be reckoned with. The world needs YOU, now.) Having REAL passion for what you do will keep you motivated, especially when times get tough - because they will. I wish I could tell you that life and business are a bowl full of roses and rainbows all the time, but we both know, it's not. The good news is, that when you really love what you do, you’re less likely to hit burn out and throw in the towel. Take Action: Picture your success and write down the answers to these questions to have more clarity around your "WHY": When I reach my goals I can live ________________.When I reach my goals I will feel ________________.When I reach my goals I can travel to _________________.When I reach my goals I can provide _______________.When I reach my goals I can help __________________.When I reach my goals I can give ________________.When I reach my goals I can serve ____________________.When I reach my goals I can hire __________________.

3. What are your core values?

Core values are the guiding principles that dictate behavior and action. They distinguish right from wrong, they can help companies determine if they are on the right path and fulfilling their business goals, and they create an unwavering and unchanging road map for our lives. Your unique value is the real secret to your success in life. It is what you alone have to offer the world that solves a specific problem. Your core values are your mission statement, your battle cry, your manifesto of what you will stand firm in and never waiver on. Some examples of core values are: genuine, belief, ambition, freedom, honesty, authenticity, compassion, dedicated, confidence, ethical, generous, courage, integrity, and innovation, to name a few. Take Action: Identify your top 5 core values.Answer these questions and watch YOUR magic unfold.
