The Best Facebook Groups For Mompreneurs
When time and money are in short supply, self-promotion can be the furthest thing from a busy mompreneur's mind. But then, there's that catch-22... you have to make money in order to have it to spend on marketing. So what's a girl to do?As a fellow mompreneur, I get it. Finding time to show up and self-promote takes time, money, and frankly- some effort. But I'm here to tell you, you need to make the time for appearances; to show up and share your fun-tastic personality, your knowledge, and your business with others. Because the truth is, no one else is going to do it for you- and certainly not as well as you can do it for yourself. The best way to do it? Get yourself in front of a large highly targeted bunch of people (free!) in a Facebook Group.Beyond helping you get business exposure and showcase your sparkly self, you can join groups:
- to get support
- to network
- to keep up with the latest trends
- to position yourself as an expert
- to help others
- to learn from others
- to share your latest optins and offerings
- to keep an eye on the competition
- to collaborate
- to make friends and allies in business
- to fend off feelings of loneliness or isolation
And those are just a few reasons I can think of off the top of my head...
So, how do you find a (worthwhile) group?
If you've been on Facebook, you've undoubtedly noticed that there's no shortage of communities out there. Finding the best ones is a job in and of itself. To help narrow things down, I put together a list of my favorite Facebook groups JUST for mompreneurs. I think you'll love them all.Sure there are plenty of communities out there, but these were designed with us, the busy (yet wildly awesome) mompreneur in mind - the ones who are really supportive and caring, but also, sometimes overwhelmed or stuck. They're for all of us who are out there raising a family and running a business at the same time. And the women inside these communities? They get it. They've been there. Some of the are still there. And as women so often do, they rise to the occasion with generous, helpful spirits ready to uplift their fellow mom in need, always ready to lend a hand, a word of advice, or some much needed motivation.
Here are my current favorite Facebook groups, dedicated to mompreneurs:
The Power Mob
Founder:
Melissa Bolton (That'd be... me.)
What it is:
The Power Mob is a safe haven for you to share ideas, gather opinions, network, make friends, and learn from one another. We're mompreneurs of all stripes from solopreneurs to micro-business owners, freelancers to franchise owners, bloggers & more, each in different phases of our personal and professional development.
Why I like it:
This is The Mogul Mom's very own private networking group. The name is a bit of a play on words, as we're Powered by Mom Owned Businesses. (Witty, right?) Launched last year we've already grown to about 1,200 members and counting. Every day we share a prompt where members can self-promote. We also welcome sharing wins, asking questions, offering (or requesting) advice, and lots of engagement. I work hard to make sure it's a fun, fair, and helpful place for all members. And I stay involved and am there daily to respond to inquiries and comment. The only thing missing is you. CLICK HERE to join us.
The Know Love & Trust Tribe
Founder:
Jaclyn Mellone
In her words:
When growing your business means selling yourself, it can feel incredibly vulnerable, to put your product or services out there for the world to see. This tribe is all about those two things: building the “know, love and trust” with yourself… and with your audiences.
Why I like it:
Jaclyn Mellone is just adorable. She's fun, upbeat, and oh-so relatable. You'll love her engagement as she takes a no-holds-barred approach to connecting with her fellow mompreneurs in a way that feels familiar and real. CLICK HERE to request access.
Boss-Moms®
Founder:
Dana Malstaff
In her words:
This space is for mom entrepreneurs who are raising a family and a business at the same time...or know they want to in the future. This is meant to be a place of support. We want to help you feel not so alone, help you make decisions for your business and family, and be here for all your Boss Mom needs.
Why I like it:
It's a highly engaged and super helpful community of professionals always willing to lend advice and support. Even though it's got nearly 16,000 members, it still manages to maintain that intimate feeling you get from smaller groups. It's a truly enjoyable place to be as a mompreneur. I highly recommend heading over there and joining. CLICK HERE to request access.
Mighty Mompreneurs
Founder:
Louise Edu
In her words:
A mighty mompreneur is someone who is committed and courageous enough to bring their online serviced based business to life, dedicated to putting in the work, and passionate about creating a better life for their family. While hustling is a huge part of our success, Mighty Mompreneurs also know that being present for our children is our main priority! The Mighty Community is one that is built on support, collaboration, empowerment and knowledge….knowing your core values as a Mother and as a Biz Babe and combining the two so that you are in complete alignment.
Why I like it:
Besides the fact that I feel kinda cool to be among other 'mighties', I really enjoy the way Louise connects with the members. She works hard to stress the importance of business through her Daily Mighty Tips, Facebook Live videos and daily sharing threads, but most of all, I love how she stresses that family always comes first. The Biz Bistro
Founder:
Prerna Malik
In her words:
This is a FUN cafe where business owners can hang out and discuss business as well as other life-changing stuff (like kids' activities, menu plans or the latest movie they loved). In short, it's where life meets business and vice-versa, where balance meets budgeting, productivity meets playdates, marketing meets Mom-and-me classes, and strategy meets sleepovers. You get the point, right?
Why I like it:
I've known Prerna for several years know how generous she is with her time and insights. She also keeps things moving in the group by encouraging engagement both in her own prompts and in others'. She's very social media savvy and is always quick to offer a quick SEO or marketing tip. And because she's been around the online block for a while now, she has some really great connections.
